I do have one nagging question on the capacitor. The second cause is loose light bulbs. Was this advice correct? Home Depot Customer Support should be able to look it up via the UPC # from the fan label. have a peek here
My son took it apart and did not mark the wiring. Take those off and it should come off. Reply Bob Jackson September 11, 2016 at 1:11 pm # Your slow running fan issue is similar to Dottie's. Do you know what this is? http://community.homedepot.com/howto/DiscussionDetail/Hampton-Bay-Ceiling-Fan-wont-switch-to-high-9065000000006KN
We hope this help! Since most ceiling fans cost around $100 it's usually not worth the time and effort for anything except simple and obvious repairs. You would need a capacitor tester to verify the capacitance of each wire to be certain.
