Also what error do you get when you open your chm file? Because it has attracted low-quality or spam answers that had to be removed, posting an answer now requires 10 reputation on this site (the association bonus does not count). If you click Open without clearing the checkbox, the help file's table of contents will appear, but the body text will not. My chm was on a network folder which I was referencing via a UNC path using the ip address.
Unfortunately, unlike Internet Explorer where you have the option of clicking a security toolbar, the CHM viewer simply refuses to load the page and you get an error page as shown I have no idea why other files work but for some reason, .CHM files are affected...
